Black Star Sapphire Corundum |
Sapphire corundum in many cases shows asterism effect, usually six rays star. This asterism phenomena is coming from the small rutile inclusion that present inside the gems. The star effect brought on by the dense inclusions of tiny fibers of rutile, known as "silk inclusion or rutile inclusion". But the truth is, since rutile is obviously included in star sapphire, the body of the sapphire is very rarely transparent.
