The light beauty green belonging to the Peridot is a perfect gemstone for those who love green color crystal. Peridot is known as a green gemstone that is certainly popular for jewelry today, as it was in the past. Many experts have found Peridot in ruins of ancient Egypt and Greece. By the Ancient Roman people, this beautiful gemstone was popularly known as the "evening emerald", because of the green color the gems resemble the deep green emeralds. The Red Sea island was an important source of Peridot in earlier times. It had been rediscovered a couple of century ago and still produces small quantities of the gemstone. The gemstones used during the time originated from a deposit on the small volcanic island in the Red Sea nearby the Egyptian coast.

Peridot is actually a gemstone group of the olivine mineral. It creates especially during the volcanic eruptions. The specific color varies from yellow green to dark lime-green. Chocolate-brown variants tend to be found, but are not very popular. Peridot deposits today can be found in several countries, such as USA, Burma, China, Mexico, and som countries in Midlle east. Burma exported significant amounts of Peridot until eventually political situation banned the distributions. The Peridot Deposits  in Pakistan and China produce considerable amounts of large Peridots.
